Challenge

The renowned football club Galatasaray decided to move from their original sport and training facility in Florya, Bakırköy to Kemerburgaz. For that reason the construction of a new building, new football field as well as retaining walls due to elevation differences were in need.

Solution

Maccaferri, was contacted and selected with their patented and trademarked Terramesh retaining wall system. Terramesh retaining wall system was applied in two strechtes of the new sport facility with one reaching heights up to 12.00m and one reaching heights up to 6.00m. Macgrid WG polymeric geogrid reinforcements were used to reinforce the stabilize the soil.


In addition to retaining wall function, Maccaferri's renowned Terramesh system stood with its aesthetic view and made a good addition to the new sport facility's ambience.
