Challenge

Heavy rainfalls pose as the main problem of cut hill slopes in Malaysia. This project was one of the examples of such problem and it affected the area along Jalan Pintas from Bangi to Semenyih, Selangor. The lowest berm of the cut slope failed because of heavy torrential rain and failure of berm drains.

Solution

Green Terramesh was chosen for this job-site because it was used in the first phase and the consultant found them to be environmentally friendly and technically sound. The cost is also highly competitive in comparison to other retaining wall systems in the market. The length of the wall was approximately 110m and 4.2m high. The size of Green Terramesh units used were GTM 4764 @ 70°. Due to ease of construction this wall was completed in one month and with hydroseeding, it looks aesthetically green in no time at all.
