MacArmour & SteelGrid
High-strength rockfall protection mesh
MacArmour
MacArmour is a 2-in-1 product that combines a homogeneous structure of bi-directional steel wire ropes with double twist wire mesh. The result is a unique product that has an excellent out-of-plane stiffness (punch resistance) and an outstanding tensile strength in the longitudinal and transversal directions.
Steelgrid HR
The Steelgrid HR System is an innovative complete system for rockfall mitigation and slope consolidation works. It is used as a drapery or as a high stiffness (low extension) bolted facing when anticipated loads exceed the capability of traditional DT Mesh. Maccaferri Steelgrid HR System combines a patented high strength steel wire mesh geocomposite which is used in conjunction with anchor plates, specific U-bolts and mesh connectors.

MALINAO-GENERAL LUNA ROAD SIARGAO ROCKFALL PROTECTION
Philippines
Siargao Island in the province of Surigao del Norte is known to be the Surfing Capital of the Philippines. Not just for surfers, Siargao's fascinating natural beauty captivates both local and foreign tourists. However, some areas are susceptible to landslides and other natural hazards due to the geologic setting and weather conditions. Certain sections of the road is confined by cut-slopes along its perimeter which is unprotected and presents the following risks: (1) erosion of soil – leading to slippery roads, (2) dislodgement of rocks leading to rockfall events, and (3) localized slope failure from surfacial instability. Even small rockfalls, or debris flows can block infrastructure and can have far-reaching economic effects beyond the immediate disruption.

MIXED RSS FOR THE RRESHEN-KALIMASH HIGHWAY
Albania
The 103 km long motorway is a key connection between Durres Port, Albania's primary harbour on the Adriatic Sea and Kosovo. Journey times of between six and ten hours will be reduced to two by this new road and the new route will serve to stimulate the economy in Albania's North Eastern region. Due to the mountainous topography of the area, many sections of the motorway run alternately through large steep embankment fill sections and slope cuts, with soil reinforcement, rock-fall protection, erosion control and revegetation measures required. The availability of large quantities of rock fills generated by the slope excavations made the choice of embankment fills a more cost effective alternative to the construction of viaducts. Of the 70 retaining walls required, those up to 15m high were constructed of concrete. However, the 30 walls over 15m high were designed as reinforced soil structures to re-use site won fill and reduce the visual impact.

PROMENADE SAMUEL-DE-CHAMPLAIN
Canada
The Samuel-De Champlain promenade is a large park along the St. Lawrence River for nearly 4. 3 kilometers. It is located on Boulevard Champlain, between the Pierre-Laporte Bridge and the Côte de Sillery. A major and lasting legacy of the Government of Quebec, the promenade is an oasis in the heart of the city and a strategic axis for the economic and tourist development of the region. The Samuel-de-Champlain Promenade has been redesigned to better meets the needs of the community. This new development plan requires that the future railway line be positioned at the toe of the cliff which is exposing both the public & infrastructures to a high risk area in case of a rockfall event.
