Challenge

Por muchos años el cerro el Berrinche mantuvo en zozobra a mas de 300 mil habitantes de Tegucigalpa y Comayagüela ya que en la zona hay una falla geológica y problemas de inundaciones que se reactivaron durante el paso del huracán Mitch, iniciando deslizamientos recurrentes de tierra con peligro de formar dique en el rió Choluteca e inundar parte de la ciudad.

Solution

Después de los estudios realizados se determinó estabilizar el suelo mediante la canalización de aguas subterráneas, canalización de aguas de lluvia y control de sedimentos e inundaciones con estructuras de gaviones.
